Our 2024 tour schedule is now available for booking!
The adventure begins at our lighthouse, where your friendly, knowledgeable guide starts your tour down to the expansive ocean floor. Throughout the 1-2 kilometre route, you’ll stop to discover tidal pools and the life beneath the surface of the mudflats. Along the way, listen to local tales and learn the influence of people on this landscape shaped by the tides. Total length of tour: approximately 1 hour 30 minutes.
This tour is suitable for most mobility levels and ages, but the ability to walk unassisted at a slow pace over uneven terrain is a must. Walking sticks are provided free of charge.
Please note: tours are eligible for a full refund with at least 48 hours’ notice, but no refunds are issued for cancellations made less than 48 hours in advance. Please read our cancellation policy below.

Tours run seasonally and are based on tide times. There are not tours every day and availability is limited.
Terrain is slippery and uneven at times. If you have mobility concerns, contact us to check if this experience is right for you.
Sturdy shoes or boots that are washable/waterproof are a must. Bring layers of clothing and a hat to be prepared for the ever-changing coastal weather. We also recommend sunglasses and sunscreen. Snacks are also welcome!
A foot wash is available after the tour but be aware that the Bay of Fundy mud may stain some fabrics.
Tours run in most weather, but may be cancelled on short notice in case of heavy rain or other adverse conditions. You will receive a full refund if your tour is cancelled.
The Municipality of East Hants will issue a full refund to participants if notice of the request to withdraw from the tour is received a minimum of 48 hours prior to the start of the tour. The request to withdraw must be made via email (burntcoat@easthants.ca), in person, or by phone (902-369-2529). No refunds are issued for withdrawal requests issued with less than 48 hours’ notice. In the event that a tour is canceled by the Municipality of East Hants, all pre-paid participants will receive full refunds. We reserve the right to cancel tours on short notice due to adverse/unsafe weather conditions.
Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a leash while in the park and on the ocean floor.
